The
meadow is a natural habitat and natural is the raising of the horses in Rafael
Conde Stud. Mares pasture freely in squares from 30 to 100 hectares, an ideal
land for a harmonic development during the reproductive cycle. They give birth
to in the country and raise its colts in this environment.
Colts, once weaned, usually in summer,
being five or six months, are separated from their mothers and taken to a nave
to be watched over during the first days of the painful and critical moment of
weaning.
Once tamed they return to the country and
one year later males are separated from females. Until they are three years old
they will not abandon the squares where they have been enjoying the typical
games of its age. After that males begin their training and taming while
females go to the herd to be covered in spring.
Selected breeding horses, mares of
contrasted origin and quality, rasing in freedom, natural and balanced
development, guaranteed strength, temperament and nobility are the elements that
define PRE horse in Rafael Conde Stud.
