As its name indicates, Meadow Nueva-Cholaica is a meadow with prevalence of oaks over cork oaks, and it is located in the mounts of  "la Cholaica", at the oriental side of Sierra Grande, between Hornachos and Campillo de Llerena.

“The meadow is an ecosystem, a real jewel of the Nature, where agricultural and cattle production, controlled by the man happens along with the conservation of species, of flora and fauna unique in the world; and more than about compatibility we can speak about symbiosis since different vegetal species, shrub-like and herbaceous species, farm animals like cows, sheep, goats, pigs and horses, wild animals like wild boars, rabbits, partridges, or migratories as cranes live togheter and complement themselves" (Luis Díaz Ambrona).

The meadow, in the past so wrongly treated by scientists, public administrations, enterprises, artists and people in general, is now highly appreciated by all, because of its ecological and natural importance. Now we understand that this symbiosis makes possible that natural products have a bigger demand from consumers: Iberic pig and its acorn ham, sheep and its milk with the famous cheese of Tortas del Casar and de la Serena, cows and its Retinto meat, and horses and the Spanish thoroughbred.

It is in the meadow where the horse acquires its maximum splendor, in the open nature, adapted to the environment, in the cold winter and in the extreme hot of summer, with the oaks and cork oaks protecting the as umbrellas in the hours where weather conditions are hard. The ground is wavy, with plains and strong slopes, being guaranteed the exercise for a balanced development in a natural way. The necessity of looking for appetizing and fresher foods and water imply displacements where all the muscles of its anatomy work.

A lot of open air time in order to develop the Species and Race instinct they have inside in every step of their life, far away from the modern horse raising farms that  give a character totally different to the Spanish horse. Our target is to preserve nobility, nerve and strength, that is, the temperament of our horse.
